A real estate fund with an office portfolio across Europe uses automatic refilling water tanks for fire suppression systems in its office buildings. A leak in one building's tank resulted in the release of 330,000 liters of water , flooding the basement to a depth of 1.5 meters . This caused significant damage to the electrical system and forced the complete shutdown of the building.

Concept

According to the Leak360 protection concept, the 1.5-meter-high water flood and the resulting damage to the building's electrical system could have been prevented with just one floor sensor . The leak detection would have allowed for immediate action to be taken and the water leak to be stopped directly. This would have eliminated the need for building renovations and prevented the building's closure. The resulting disruptions for the commercial tenants could also have been avoided. Leak360 was subsequently installed in all of the asset manager's properties.
